Star “NOVOSIBIRSK INTRUMENT-MAKING PLANT”


Our enterprise has got certificate assigning the name of our plant to the star in Cassiopeia constellation...
In December, our company issued certificate No RUS12039 of inclusion in the "International catalog of celestial bodies" assigning the name of our plant (“Production association “Novosibirsk Instrument-Making Plant”) to the star, which has coordinates 02Р29М00.14S in right ascension and 63 degrees 41 min. 37.4 sec in declination. The star of 15th stellar magnitude is located in the Cassiopeia constellation is located 7 degrees from the star ? Seguin. You can see it through a telescope with a mirror diameter of 400 mm.
Cassiopeia - constellation of the Northern Hemisphere, which is interesting because of brightest stars form a figure that looks like “W”. It’s really easy to find this constellation in the sky, and find out other constellations with help of it. Cassiopeia occupies nearly 598.4 square degrees in the sky and consists of 150 stars apparent to the naked eye, and 90 of them are brighter of 6th stellar magnitude. The biggest part of constellation is in Milky Way and contains 2 objects of Messier catalogue – spread clusters M52 and M103, and another.
According to Greek mythology - Cassiopeia was wife of Ethiopian king Cepheus and mother of Andromeda. For showing off her beauty in front of the sea god Poseidon nereids, she was tied to her throne and placed in the sky.
